So, if you want to combine Maghrib prayer and Isha prayer with Jama Takheer, then you have to do that during the Isha prayer time. There is one important point about combining the two obligatory prayers in Islam with Jama Takheer, that it can be done in two ways: ordinary Jama Takheer and Jama Takheer Qasr.
Sleeping after eating or eating too close to bedtime. Smoking, or using alcohol or caffeine. Drinking water before bed, such that you wake often to use the bathroom. Excessive daytime sleepiness. Abruptly falling asleep under unusual circumstances. Sleep paralysis. Dreams so vivid that they feel real.
"The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'The most beloved of fasting to Allah is the fasting of Dawud, peace be upon him. He used to fast one day and not the next. And the most beloved of prayer to Allah (SWT) is the prayer of Dawud. He used to sleep half the night, spend one-third of the night in prayer and sleep for one-sixth of it.'"
This is supported by what [is reported] from Ibn Mas`ud when he said: "The Prophet (S) conjoined the two prayers, in Medina, the zuhr and `asr, and the maghrib and `isha', and this [fact] was mentioned to him. He (the Prophet) said: "I did this so that my umma should not be burdened." Al-Tabrani has reported this.
The scholars stated a number of times when sleeping is disliked, among which is the period after the Fajr prayer as this is a time of blessings, hard work, activity and striving to earn one’s livelihood. Sakhar Al-Ghaamidi narrated that the Prophet said: " O Allaah! Bless my nation in its early times."
